Taza

It'is a city in northeastern Morocco, capital of the province of Taza. The city name comes from the Berber "Tizi" which means "neck".
Taza is a atlaso-Rif city that developed around the fortified monastery built by the Berbers in the tenth century. Its strategic position between the Rif and Atlas, so in the pre-Rif, makes it a military stronghold coveted by peoples from the east, eager to conquer the Moroccan land. Medina: 

The main street of the old town is run by the Grain Market and the Souks where sold mats, carpets, jewelry, and all kinds of handicrafts made Berbers in the mountains. It ends with a parade at the bottom of which rises the Andalusian Mosque, whose minaret built in the twelfth century is wider at its top than at its base. The Bab el-qebbour street crosses the Kissaria and taken to the mosque where it meets Market Bab Jamaa, the main entrance of Taza. 

The ramparts and fortifications: 

The walls of Taza, built in the twelfth century and repeatedly reinforced, were endowed in the sixteenth century by the saadien Ahmed el-Mansour, a borj 26 m square, the door to harrow and pillboxes topped terraces show a clear European influence. The fortifications system converges to a bastion of the sixteenth century, which measures 26 m by 20 m side hauteur17.
